Rhythm of Worship

Weston Lullingfields CE Primary School embraces a weekly worship rhythm, blending faith with learning. From global reflections to values and advocacy, our pupils engage in meaningful, celebratory worship led by school leaders and Revd. Linda.

Monday: Window onto the World

The week has a rhythm of worship which begins on a Monday with a ‘Window onto the world’ worship when pupils learn about something that has happened nationally or globally. They learn about how the event is reflected in their own lives and then how they can use the new information gained about the event to make a difference by taking a step through the door out into the world or welcoming in something new in through the door to their world. This is an opportunity for children to learn about ‘Courageous Advocacy’ and to celebrate the achievements of people who make a difference. It is also an opportunity for children to consider how others live in difficult circumstances.

Tuesday: Values in Focus

Tuesday worship is lead by the Headteacher, and has a values focus. Each half term has a Christian value theme, which is communicated to children and parents via newsletters and displays throughout school.

Wednesday: Bible Stories with Revd. Linda

Wednesday worship is conducted by Revd. Linda. She will teach a bible story and invite the children to explore a bible story chosen by her to illustrate the current values theme.

Thursday: Advocating for Change

Thursday worship has a courageous advocacy theme. The children learn about a cause or an injustice and explore how they can become Courageous Advocates to make a difference to the cause.

Friday: Celebration and Singing

Friday’s worship is celebratory and singing. The children are awarded Value stickers by staff during whole class worship. Staff nominate pupils who have demonstrated a particular value and explain how and why they feel the value has been shown by the pupil. Singing takes a large part of this worship also, we sing a variety of traditional and contemporary songs of worship.

Special Worship Events with Revd. Linda

In addition to the staff awarding values stickers, we now invite our worship leaders to award values stickers to their peers or to staff that they have noticed demonstrating the value.
