Special Educational Needs & Disability (SEND)

In January 2024 the UK Government reported that 18% of all pupils in England have Special Educational needs. 4.8% nationally have an Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP) and 13.6% have a need met without an EHCP.

At Weston Lullingfields we take great pride in supporting 30% of our pupils with a Special Educational Need or Disability (SEND). The 30% can be broken down into 19% of pupils on SEND Support Plans and 11% of pupils with Educational Health Care Plans (EHCP).

In addition, we have 17% pupils on SEND monitoring where we are at the beginning phase of identifying a possible additional need or where we are providing interventions to support learning or other need on a plan, do, review cycle.

Weston Lullingfields school SENCO works one day a week onsite. She provides support to staff and parents with regular meetings, reviews, practical advice and research and also liaises with external agencies to ensure our pupils get the best support available.
